Wisdom teeth are the last teeth to come through. It usually grows through the gums in late teens or in your early twenties. By this time, the wisdowm teeth grows through the gums while other teeth are in place so there isn't enough room for your wisdom teeth to grow.

Lack of space can make wisdom teeth emerge at an angle or stuck and only emerge partially. Because of this, there are cases wherein one may need to have their wisdom teeth removed.

Food and bacteria can be trapped on a partially grown wisdom teeth. It is usually hard to reach even when you brush because it is situated at the back of your mouth.

Problems caused by partially grown wisdom teeth

If wisdom teeth is causing you pain towards the back of your mouth, consult a dentist about it. There are other cases wherein wisdom teeth should be removed even though it doesn't cause pain so it is better to have a routine dental check-up.
